Hello My Angel Friends,
Welcome to the second week of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. This week I will be talking about the second law which is The Law of Giving and Receiving.
“The universe operates through dynamic exchange… giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.” ~ Deepak Chopra
I will put the Law of Giving and receiving into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:
Applying the Law of Giving and Receiving:
1. Wherever I go, and whoever I encounter, I will bring them a gift. The gift may be a compliment, a flower, or a prayer. Today, give something to everyone you come into contact with, and so I will begin the process of circulating joy, wealth and affluence in my life and in the lives of others.
A smile is wonderful gift to share with others and it costs nothing. I challenge you for a day to share a smile with everyone you come into contact with. I think you will be surprised at how good you feel at the end of the day.
2. Today I will gratefully receive all the gifts that life has to offer me. I will receive the gifts of nature: sunlight and the sound of birds singing, or spring showers or the first snow of winter. I will also be open to receiving from others, whether it is in the form of a material gift, money, a compliment, or a prayer.
I have always struggled with receiving. I love to give but I’m not a good receiver, until last year when I learned a powerful lesson in giving and receiving. When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, my friends all wanted to help. They offered to take me to chemotherapy appts. & Dr. appts, clean my house, do laundry for me, do my grocery shopping, anything I needed help with. Well, I am very independent and stubborn and I would not accept the “gift” of help.
Last year a very dear friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer. I was devastated when she told me. She was the kindest, sweetest, most caring person and didn’t deserve this! I told her I would help her with whatever she needed and I would be happy to go with her to chemo treatments. Like me, she declined my offers of help and said she would be fine. Well she wasn’t and within 6 weeks she passed away. At that moment, I understood how it felt when I would not allow my friends to help me. All they want to do is share their love by helping me. I love this quote from Cheryl Richardson “Ask for help. Receiving is an act of generosity.” If you are only giving or only receiving it creates an unhealthy balance in your life.
3. I will make a commitment to keep wealth circulating in my life by giving and receiving life’s most precious gifts: the gifts of caring, affection, appreciation, and love. Each time I meet someone, I will silently wish them happiness, joy and laughter.
When I am standing in a long checkout line at the store, I like to silently send blessings of unconditional love, good health and prosperity to the people around me. When I’m driving and stuck in traffic or stopped at long traffic light I like to envision everyone surrounded in the white light of guidance and the blue light of protection. It’s a great way to make the time go faster.
Tomorrow I will be talking about the third Spiritual Law of Success which is the Law of Karma. Until then consciously work on giving and receiving. Wishing you much success!
Many Blessings, ♥ Debbie 🙂
